Link Bait

What is Link Bait?

Link bait is content specifically created to attract editorial links from other websites. The idea is that if a piece of content is interesting, useful, or valuable enough, other websites will naturally link to it, thereby increasing the authority and trustworthiness of the linked page (and the website in general) in the eyes of search engines.

Examples of link bait include infographics, whitepapers, research studies, guides, statistics, and free tools and resources. Here’s the most link-to pages on our website, as seen in Ahrefs Site Explorer:

However, it’s important to note that link bait requires promotion, otherwise it may not be discovered by potential linkers.
